Every once in a while a baby item comes into your life that’s a total game changer, and the HALO Bassinest is one of them. With Liza we didn’t use a traditional bassinet, but after experiencing those sleepless nights I knew the second time around I wanted to have one. After researching every option out there, I settled on the Bassinest and am so glad I did. I was impressed with a lot of it’s features and had used their SleepSack swaddles religiously with Liza, but what really sold me was how great it was for recovering from c-sections. Annabelle and I are both getting good sleep, and I know it’s in large part to the HALO Bassinest!
When it comes to the little details, HALO thought of everything. I love and use every feature regularly. The bassinet itself swivels and moves up and down, so you can easily adjust it to be mattress height and maneuver around it. This is a great alternative to co-sleeping, since your baby is in a safe sleeping environment but you still benefit from the bonding experience of sleeping side by side. Being so close also makes night time feedings a breeze, and the collapsible side makes reaching for you little one much easier when you’re movement is still limited post c-section. I also love how I can see her through the mesh sides (and Liza loves being able to spy on her). Those first few weeks, you’re not getting much sleep so every minute counts. Being able to roll over and scoop her up and also knowing she is safe beside me at night makes everyone’s night a little smoother.
The soothing center also offers several features that have become part of our routine. It has three soothing lullabies, a night light with two levels of brightness, a nursing timer, and a subtle vibration. Both of my girls would often fall asleep in my arms and wake up the second I laid them down to bed. I started laying Annabelle down with the vibration on, and she stays asleep every time! The night light is great for changing diapers in the middle of the night or searching for that burp cloth without waking everyone up. These little extras have made a big difference during the night.
While the bassinet has been a total life saver, I also have to give a lot of credit to the HALO SleepSack Swaddle. We tried out a lot of different options with Liza, and never found anything that came close to the Halo Swaddle. Swaddling can be a little intimidating at first, but the velcro strips make it so easy to give your little one a nice tight swaddle. The zip up also makes for easy access at night, and the cotton is extremely soft. While the straps keep your baby’s arms down so his startle reflex doesn’t wake him up, the lightweight cotton helps regulate body temperature and keep your little one warm all night. These are a must for every new mama!
Wether you’re recovering from your first c-section or bringing home your fourth baby, the HALO Bassinest is a mama’s best friend. You can enjoy bonding with your baby and easily feed him throughout the night, while resting assured he’s safe and cozy right beside you.
