Holiday traditions have always been important to me, but even more so now with little ones of my own. I have loved continuing Christmas traditions from when my sister and I were younger, while making new traditions with our girls. One thing I’ve done since I can remember is decorating the house and tree the weekend after Thanksgiving. We take the girls every year the Friday after Thanksgiving to pick out our tree. We spend the following days decorating the tree, hanging our stockings, baking cookies, and drinking hot cocoa and my holiday cocktails while listening to Christmas music. It’s just so happy and cozy. I hope your girls have great memories of decorating the house for the holidays together!
I love these festive cocktail napkins and Santa cookie jar because they look like a vintage treasure passed down from your mother. While my aesthetic tends to be on the modern side, there’s something about traditional Christmas decor that just makes it feel homey. As Liza gets older she really wants to be more involved in the decorating process. You can find a cluster of ornaments at toddler height on the tree, and obscure Christmas stickers around the house. Her enthusiasm is pretty precious. She has really loved baking cookies this year and also sneaking into the cookie jar with sister’s help. It’s also an exciting year because it will be Annabelle’s first Christmas. She was born in January, so I remember dreaming of her being here the next Christmas this time last year. Having four stockings on the mantle, and two little girls in matching jimmies on Christmas morning. It’s hard to believe it’s already here!
